2018 Summer Camps

Summer Camps at GRA

Spend the day surrounded by art and inspiration at Great River Arts working one-on-one with our talented, local teaching artists. This year we have expanded programming to better serve our youngest students. We are looking forward to working with your children this summer to expand their creative vocabulary & encourage lots of growth & artistic development. Our expansion in summer youth programming is made possible in part by grant funding from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Five Wings Arts Council.

This year the production will be SNOW WHITE LITE by Jacob Dorn. All the scenes you’d expect from the classic are here & funnier than ever!  Audiences of all ages will love the tongue-in-cheek humor in this surprisingly witty adaptation. An easy, breezy, short, and sweet adaptation of the classic fairy tale, it’s absolutely de-LITE-ful!

Theatre is a great confidence builder and the camaraderie that is developed amongst the children throughout the week is invaluable! Great River Arts is a positive and creative space that young actors thrive in. Can’t wait to see you in the summer!

Join Heather at Great River Arts for a week long musical theater camp. Your child will play educational theatre games, learn auditioning skills and stage presence, develop fun characters, learn vocal warm up techniques and sing several fun songs, dance to original choreography and perform on stage for a live audience.

This year we will be presenting HI HO ROBIN HOOD (retold as a musical play) by Tim Kelly and Ole Kittleson. This engaging adventure captures the hearts of both young and old with spirited verse and humor galore! Robin Hood is leading a merry life with his followers in Sherwood Forest until the evil Prince John overtakes King Richard & wages a personal war against Robin Hood. Only the brave and shrewd Robin Hood can secure Nottingham & safely return of the king. This is family entertainment at its utmost, filled with delightful songs. There is much fun to be had with this musical!
