Song Circle

Song Circle on Thursdays, NOW at 4pm (starting January 2025). We welcome those 5 and under (along with an adult) to enjoy 30 minutes of song, dancing, playing and music making! The class begins at 1:30pm and is FREE!!! No registration required.

Paint Your Own Pottery

GRA now offer's a monthly Paint Your Own Pottery class. Down in the studio we have a variety of ceramics ready to be painted ranging from $5-$20! Spot reservation is $5 and includes glazes and firing.  At the class choose your pottery piece for a variety of pre-made pieces (cost of pottery item not included in reservation fee).  Register online at https://greatart.org/products/ceramics-sip-paint-october-12th-5-30pm-6-45pm

Sketching

If there are youth under the age of 16 an adult must be present with the child for the Sketching program.

🌟 Let your child get their hands dirty in this fun and creative 4-day camp! From learning the basics of wheel throwing to creating their own hand-built masterpieces, they'll explore the magic of clay.

- Clay, tools & equipment provided  
- Firing of pieces
- Instruction from experienced ceramic artists  
- A chance to create unique, one-of-a-kind pieces!

**What to bring:**

 Youth Summer Art Camp


Join us at GRA this summer for youth summer art camp with Heidi Jeub.  In this 3-day camp, June 25-27th from 10:30-3:30pm, students will have the full studio art experience and build skills needed to continue their art practice.  Participants get to choose their own projects and will have access to a range of supplies!  Please bring a snack/lunch and a water bottle. This class is open to youth ages 10-14.  Pre-registration is required.  A minimum of 5 students is required to run the class with a max of 10 students. 

Member: $170
Non-Member: $190
Multi Student Discount:
$320 (2 students), $465 (3 students), $600 (4 students). Contact GRA at 320-632-0960 so the discount can be applied.

Join Heather Mastromarco for an action filled week of theatre games, improv, comedy, skits, puppets and more! We’ll create our very own show to perform for our friends and family on Friday. We cannot wait to hear all of your fantastic theatre ideas and see you shine on the GRA stage!

Pre-registration is required. 8 participants are required to run the class. 

About your instructor: Heather Mastromarco (she/her) is a theatre educator in Saint Cloud Minnesota. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a Minor in Music from SCSU summa cum laude, and graduated with distinction from the Music Theater Performance Program at St Lawrence College in Canada. Heather loves writing and performing sketch comedy and making people laugh. She is a talented singer, actor, director and choreographer who has worked with several theatre companies and organizations in the St Cloud area. Heather creates a wonderful, creative space full of fun and kindness and we know your kiddos will have an amazing time learning all about theatre with her.  aaaaaa

Learn the basics  in this casual dance class.  Open to all ages.  No partner necessary.  Class size limit 20.  Please wear non marking shoes or bring a pair of socks for the lesson. Pre-registration required.

Write in the Gallery: 12 Months of Prompts hosted by Laura Hansen  
2nd Friday of the month, 1:30-3:00pm


Join us at Great River Arts once a month.  Write in the gallery.  Be inspired by the art.  Meet other writers.  A facilitator will provide opening prompts otherwise there will be self directed writing time for you to create.  This program is free and open to the public and for teens and adults.

Laura Hansen is the author of the Stevens Poetry Manuscript Prize collection, Midnight River. Her most recent books are Waiting Rooms; My Breast Cancer Journey in Poems and The Night Journey; Stories and Poems. Published in numerous regional journals, Laura has judged poetry contests for Central Lakes College, The Talking Stick Literary Journal and Brainerd Writers Alliance among others.  Laura is a two time Grand Prize Winner in the League of Minnesota
Annual Poetry Contest and a three time Five Wings Arts Council Grant Recipient. She is on the Lifetime Arts Creative Aging Roster of Teaching Artists and has served on the boards of Great River Arts and The Five Wings Arts Council. A graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, Laura owned an independent bookstore for twenty years and now works at her local library.
