Events
During the We Are Water MN exhibit, we are hosting several events to invite visitors to engage with one another and connect with water.
The We Are Water MN exhibit will be open for viewing during events taking place at GRA.

August 5, 4-8 pm: Water Bar
- Enjoy a water sampling at the Green Fair Folk Festival hosted by the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. Learn more about the fair here.

August 6- October 3: Art-Words II Exhibition
- View water themed artwork by local and regional visual artists and writers in this community exhibition at Great River Arts.

August 15, 11-1 pm: Art-Words II Reception
- Celebrate the work of the Art-Words II artists. Reception includes a presentation with readings of written pieces and celebration of the We Are Water MN exhibition and Great River Arts.

August 15, 2:30- 5 pm: Mississippi History Paddle
- Bring your own kayak, canoe, or Paddleboard and enjoy a peaceful paddle on the Mississippi River from Lum Park to Kiwanis Park. Along the way you can stop and view signage on the Mississippi river of where past structures and events took place that helped shape this community. This event is put on by the Mississippi Headwaters Board. Learn more at their website.

Weds. August 19- September 30, 3:30-4:30 pm: Watercolor Wednesday
- Attend a weekly watercolor get together at GRA where we create a water themed painting each week.

August 20, 4-7 pm: Splash Pad Picnic
- Have some fun at the Little Falls Splash Pad! Play at the park, engage in arts activities, and enjoy the summer.

August 21, 7:30- 8:30 am: Friday Morning Coffee
- Join us this morning at Great River Arts to engage with the We Are Water MN exhibition and learn about how it got to Little Falls.

September 12, 12-2 pm: Paper Making
- Stop by Great River Arts during the Arts & Craft fair and do a hands on art project making paper! The paper made will be used at future We Are Water MN events.

September 17, 5:30 pm: Living Waters: Ecumenical Service
- Attend the Living Waters: Ecumenical Service at First Lutheran Church. Stop by Great River Arts after the service to view the We Are Water MN exhibit.

September 17: 6:30-8 pm: Presentation w/ Camp Ripley & Reception
- Visit the We Are Water MN exhibit after hours at Great River Arts and hear from representatives from Camp Ripley about water and the environment at camp.

October 2, 5-6 pm: Lecture w/ The National Loon Center
- Join The National Loon Center at Great River Arts for a lecture focusing on preservation and conservation of the wildlife and waterways of Minnesota. Learn more about The National Loon Center on their website.

October 19-23: Nitrate Testing
- Visit the Morrison Soil and Water Conservation District and get your water tested. Learn more about nitrate testing and this event at the MSWCD website.

Visiting
The We Are Water MN Exhibit at GRA will be open Wednesday thru Friday and Saturday's from August 13 to October 3, 2026.
Exhibit Hours
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday thru Friday
10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday
The exhibit includes over 20 unique pieces; we recommend allowing 30-60 minutes to experience the full exhibit.
